The Wedding Gown
The Wedding Gown
Purity of the heart--Purity of the mind--Purity of the soul!

It is traditional at a wedding for the bride to wear a beautiful dress of pure white! How many people these days though, remember the meaning of the white gown?

White is the color of purity, a bride should be clean and pure for her husband. Her heart should be spotless just like the dress she wears. The problem is, Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” All of our hearts are stained, even if on the outside we seem clean, remember what Jesus said, Matthew 5:28 “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Don’t forget, sins of the heart you may be able to hide from men, but not from the Lord, for he knows your every thought before you even think it.

There is such a beauty and message in a white wedding gown, such meaning and purpose! Let us not forget it. A bride is only clean for her husband if Jesus blood washes away her stains so that her sins are paid for and she is forgiven.

Seek the Lord, 1 Chronicles 28:9 “If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.” Cling to the Lord, for he is the only way, John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” As for forgiveness, 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” And ask for him to grant you wisdom, James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

Let the Lord wash you, and not only will your wedding gown represent your pure heart, but also what the Lord has done for you. May God be the glue to every marriage, there is no other way for it to last.
