Purity Fighters or Bad Boys? You can’t be both.

Please understand this is NOT a slam on the Jonas Brothers. I am writing this to voice a concern I have about what the world is doing to them.

The Jonas Brothers are loved and adored by so many people these days! They are known for the love they have for their family, for their fans and for the Lord, along with the promise they have to remain pure. I have had a growing concern lately as I’ve been looking at some of the new photo shoot pictures. I’ve been trying to do something I hate, and that is to compromise. I’ve been looking at the different clothes and stuff that have been put on the boys for the photo shoots, and more and more I find it very distasteful, but I’ve been trying to let it go and enjoy the good.

But you must draw the line somewhere, and all the lies and excuses of compromise were blown out the window when the new Rolling Stone magazine hit the stands.

And these are the boys that are known for purity? Aside from that adorable expression Nick (far right) is giving, the whole picture conveys that the Jonas Brothers are what are known as “bad boys,” something that most people in this world find attractive, but is disgusting and disgraceful! Opposite messages are being sent out right now, the message of purity is being sent out through the rings, and the message of immorality is being sent out through this picture.

“Bad boys” are often thieves, lustful, violent, sex-hungry jerks.

You may say, “Well it’s just a picture, they aren’t like that.” There are plenty of excuses, but you keep giving excuses, you keep compromising, and you end up at the bottom of the ditch of sin, trapped in it as it is thrown into the fires of hell.

“Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good” (3 John 1:11). This picture doesn’t imitate good; it imitates evil very clearly.

You act like something long enough, that’s who you become! I’m not stupid, I know what is going on here. The devil is after the Jonas Brothers.

You may think it sounds crazy, but actually it makes perfect sense! Think about it. Thousands of teenage girls are screaming their names every day! And the thing they are known for is their purity rings. The devil hates purity, because purity is of the Lord, and the Lord and the devil are opposites, enemies who are fighting each other for the souls in this world. The message of purity is getting out to people through the Jonas Brothers’ faith, and that hurts the devil’s wicked plan. Satan wants the Jonas Brothers to fail in their fight for purity, because then more people will look down in disgust on the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil is using things like these photo shoots to make sin look cool.

I will not lie; there is something very attractive about this picture. It draws your eye, but in the most disgusting way! Satan knows how to make immortality look cool. After doing it for a few thousand years, he’s gotten pretty good at it.

Do not be deceived by the father of all lies, trust in the Lord!

Please understand I know I already said this, but this is NOT a slam against the Jonas Brothers. This is a slam against the devil’s evil plans.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-- think about such things,” (Philippians 4:8).

He sang songs about Christ’s undeserved love and care for us. He sang with passion, because he sang about the Lord and His truth:

“How can you look at me that way? When I have failed so many times! Showing me love, you tell the world, ‘This child is mine,’ how can you walk that extra mile? I see forgiveness in your smile!”

Mr. Jonas and Kevin sang “I Am Amazed,” a song talking about the love God the Father has shown to us and how amazing it is!

His love for us is so undeserved, “I am amazed that he chose me!”

Thank you, Lord, for you loving hand!

Each of the three Jonas Brothers wears purity rings.

The rings are a sign, they remind them, and they show others that the boys have already committed themselves to their future wives. They are saving themselves to be with only their wife after they have become one. The purity ring basically reserves the place of the wedding ring, until it is time for the wedding ring to take its place and stay there till death.
