Hold On, Jonas!
Hold On, Jonas!
By ErikaLeigh Kozlowski

A few months ago, Kevin Jonas II had an interview with a man on the radio who not only made fun of Kevin for his promise to remain pure, but he also tried to talk Kevin out of keeping the promise. That is what motivated me to make Keeping the Promise not just a fansite, but a real ministry, because the Truth needed to be spoken and still does.

I had hoped that that interviewer was done, but apparently he was just getting started.

Last night (9-25-08) I found out that that same interviewer/radio station has a new contest called “Jump A Jonas.” They are offering $10,000 to the first person who can have sex with either Kevin or Joe and prove it. I’m not kidding. The worst part about it is, it’s not just for girls. If a guy can do it; he’ll get the $10,000. So they aren’t just encouraging immoral sex, they’re encouraging homosexuality.

Why do people want a Jonas scandal? Celebrities are people too, and you’re talking about taking one of the most valuable things that Kevin and Joe have. And why? Money and fame? Is that all it is? Fifteen minutes of fame?

Even if you see the promise as a joke, or as something stupid and pointless, you can still respect those who are keeping the promise instead of tearing them down. Taking a person who is keeping the promise and destroying their purity, is like taking a beautiful white rose with no mar in full bloom, and leaving it like this:

Dark, dead, destroyed and worth nothing…

Through the grace of God, someone who has given up their purity can be redeemed, but it still will never be quite the same for that person, whoever they are.

It takes a real man to make that promise. Kevin, Joe and Nick have shown that they are that kind of real man. The one who is against them and running this contest is probably jealous because he doesn’t have a tour bus to bring all the girls he wants into it and who has shown himself is weak enough to do it. But these guys have shown that they do have the strength to “Hold On” to Christ and stay away from the temptation to fall into the trap of immorality.

The Jonas Brothers, all of them, need to be supported, not torn down. Just like everyone who is keeping the promise! And anyone who isn’t, don’t just pray for them, if you have an opportunity to talk to someone about purity and you feel God has given you the words, don’t hesitate, stand and speak!

Kevin and Joe, hold on! Nick, you too! Hold onto Christ who can and will get you through anything if you will keep your eyes on Him!

We’re praying for all of you! Keep the Promise and Praise the Lord!
