Find Me, Please!

Parties, drinking, immorality, lustful passions thrown from every direction, trying to think straight and remember the Truth when the world feeds me lie after lie—

We teens in this world, both guys and girls, all have a desire to be loved, to be held and cherished, (I know for guys it’s a little different than girls, but guys have desires too). And the lie is told that we can find what we need in relationships. But there is a longing that can’t be satisfied with any relationship in this world, a hole inside that can only be filled with one thing.

Do you spend nights in tears feeling empty inside? Feeling all alone? Crying out, wanting for someone to come hold you! Wanting someone to come and cherish you, love you…I have.

Perhaps you’re making the mistake I’ve made over a thousand times, hoping the need inside me can be filled by a human relationship. But I have found that, there is no one who can give me what I need, no one who can fill that empty hole, no one that has the power to pull me out of the dark pit my heart is in, no one who can bring me to the light. No one. No boyfriend/girlfriend, no husband/wife, no best friend or anyone can satisfy the longing inside your soul.

Here are three things to know:

1.	The Lord is the Only One who can fill that longing in our empty souls! And the best part, God Himself Who has the power to fill that hole with Himself, wants to! You get that? He wants to be with you! He wants to hold you, comfort you when your sad, rejoice with you when your heart is merry, and always be the One by your side watching over you. Even more than you want to be loved, He wants to love you. He wants to be in a relationship with you that doesn’t end at death, because with Him, death is just the beginning of a forever journey in heaven with Jesus.
2.	Perfect love only exists in your relationship with the Lord. Everyone you know, if you hang around them long enough, is going to hurt your feelings, break your heart, make you mad and want to scream, but the Lord, He is there with you when your brother hurts your feelings. He holds you when your boyfriend/girlfriend breaks your heart. He cries with you as you yell in rage! He is always there.
3.	True love is not having someone who won’t break your heart. True love is finding someone who you commit to love even when they break your heart—someone who will love you even when you break their heart. Perfection is only found in Christ, you have to live with that.

Tell me I’m crazy; it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus has always been there for me when I needed Him. Even when I shut Him out and wouldn’t listen to Him, He still stood beside me. He sat and watched as I did exactly what He told me not to do, and forgave me even before I began. He pulled me away from what I was doing and into His warm embrace, reminding me He loved me, not letting me continue to hurt myself.

That is true love. It is only found in one place, and that is with the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter who you are, no matter what you have done or haven’t done, no matter what your longing is, nothing in this world will satisfy. But God the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the Savior of sinners, he satisfies all. And He loves you!
